GAL Services

Guardians ad Litem (GAL) focus exclusively on the child.
 
Thousands of abused and neglected children become the subject of judicial proceedings each year. Their voices are often unheard and the best interests overlooked in the complicated and overburdened adversarial process. Guardians ad Litem are attorneys who become part of a court proceeding to represent the best interest of a child in a divorce, guardianship, relocation, modification, adoption or custody hearing. The Guardian ad Litem is an arm of the court whose purpose is to investigate everything that could determine a ruling before the court - all of which is designed to identify the best interests of the child.  The GAL becomes the eyes and ears of the court, giving the children an unbiased voice within the judicial system. 

GAL's do not simply provide the court with what a child may or may not desire, but rather provides an objective view of the facts and circumstances the child finds him or herself in and reports to the court accordingly.
